OVERVIEW

Welcome to my web site! This page will provide you with some summary information on my professional background including my education, work experience, capabilities, and interests. For the past seven years I have worked in both private and public sectors on strategic initiatives to deliver business solutions utilizing innovated technology. Most of my early work experience was in web/graphic design, software/web programming, and database development. I soon became very good at quickly formulating technical solutions to automated and streamline business processes. This, plus the fact that I enjoyed interaction with customers and collogues, led me to make a shift into project management, e-business consultation and sales type roles. In my career, I have established a solid track record by using my ability to quickly ascertain underlying needs of customers, build rapports, and propose efficient and effective solutions. My affability has opened many doors for me; however, my true passion lies in learning all aspects of technology, down to the code level. I still spend a good percentage of my time (and very much enjoy) programming, researching best practices, and learning new programming technologies/languages and softwares. This has made me a very versatile IT professional and allows me to have a handle on all aspects of IT related projects including: customer interaction, planning, documentation/technical writing, programming, database design/development, hardware configuration, OS configuration, network configuration, etc.

EXPERTISE

I hold an MBA with an emphasis in Information Systems and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology. I poses over seven years in senior IT roles including e-Business consultation and sales, project management, graphic and web design, software and web application development, and database development. I boast expertise in a broad range of disciplines in: web and software applications, programming languages, databases, OS platforms, and server and network hardware. The range of my skills are listed on my Resume.

Over the years I have developed or managed numerous projects for a variety of industries. These projects range in size and breadth of scope. A sample of these projects include: custom accounting applications, records retention systems, distant learning systems, data management systems, legacy system integration, web community, channel and membership management systems, online chat, discussion forums, e-mail systems, online job posting/recruitment and applicant tracking systems, calendars and scheduling systems, B2C and B2B e-commerce systems, etc. Some of the industries involved include: K-12 education, higher education, federal/state/local governments, music, entertainment, non-profits, medical/dental, real estate, and retail among others.

I am accustom to implementing timely, well-written code and clean documentation and I am accustom to following the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) from start to finish in my web/software development. I would consider myself an expert in this field particularly in web and database development. I leverage the use of N-Tier architecture, OOP (Object-Oriented Programming), AJAX, LINQ, user-defined functions, triggers, classes, user controls, CSS, stored procedures, and polymorphism methodologies to develop fast and robust web/software/data applications.

EXPERIENCE

Currently, I am the Director for a web and software development department out of the San Joaquin County Office of Education. My department develops web and software applications for thousands of educational and state and federal government agencies across California. I am responsible for new contract acquisitions and assume overall financial accountability for the department, including developing and managing an annual budget over 2.5 million. I strategize and oversee all projects and services, network configurations, hardware configurations, server platform and software configurations, and programming (including technologies used, best practices, and documentation). I also manage all project managers, design, programming, Q&A, and support teams.

Prior to that, I served as Director of Partnership Development for Your Business On-line, Inc. (YBO), the worlds first E-business Service Provider (ESP) which developed the first multi-user, real-time credit card processing payment gateway with fraud protection. In this small startup, I played a major role in contributing to the growth of the organization from four employees to over thirty. I was responsible for expansion of business model, project management, management of sales staff, and strategic partnership negotiations among others. I was also responsible for acquiring over forty percent of the company’s total revenue during my tenure at YBO. I've also held two other IT related positions, prior to YBO, first as a DBA, then as a software and web applications programmer.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY

I believe strongly, that it is imperative to provide close and direct communication with your colleagues and customers. Therefore, I make it a point to keep myself accessible anytime day or night. Good communications keeps everyone on the same page, builds rapports, and provides clarification, assurance, and confidence to all stakeholders.

PROFESSIONALISM

In closing, I would like to point out that I am very passionate and committed to my work. I find that I can't pull myself away from my computer until I've reached a significant milestone in my workload (which is usually after 10-12 consecutive hours). If you are seeking a seasoned IT professional with strong and broad skillsets, I'm your guy. Thank you for taking the time to read through my qualifications.
